Local Brand X advocates diversity and inclusion in all activities. As a team, it is important to us to create an awareness of issues such as social justice in terms of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, worldview, disability, age as well as sexual orientation and identity. External communication and the chosen language play an important role here. In the German language, the generic masculine is used in many areas to address a group of people. A change is currently taking place and more socially fair spellings such as gendering (e.g. employees) are becoming increasingly popular. However, there are still no uniform rules as to how this language change should be carried out and different recommendations or guidelines for this.
We have dealt with the topic at Local Brand X and have now decided to continue to use the generic masculine for the time being, due to the lack of general and for better readability. However, Local Brand X's full range of products is expressly aimed at groups of people of all gender categories (x / d / w / m). Regardless of the spelling, Local Brand X always addresses all groups of people. If you have any further comments or suggestions for integrating gender-sensitive language, please do not hesitate to contact us.
