Training at Local Brand X: Tobi's experiences over the last 3 years

As a Mainz IT startup and IHK-certified training company, we at Local Brand X place particular emphasis on training new team members. Every year we invest in the training of an IT specialist in the field of application development and pass on our knowledge. We are always very interested in retaining good trainees and employees. Some of our permanent employees have already worked at Local Brand X during their studies and were taken over from working students to permanent positions.  

Tobi, who is currently completing his training as an IT specialist for application development with us, will also be supporting our team as a junior application developer with immediate effect. We would like to look back on the last three years with him and have asked him three questions about his training at Local Brand X. 

Hello Tobi! When you think back on your training, what do you remember most positively? 

I find the development that I was able to go through at Local Brand X particularly positive. Being able to work on customer projects within a very short period of time and always receiving support when asked was something I found really great and is certainly not a matter of course in many companies. Not to forget the company events, which are always a lot of fun with such a nice team! 

How were you able to develop professionally and personally during this time?  

As I already mentioned, I received a lot of support from the beginning to the end of my training and was able to develop a lot professionally. I also made great progress in my personal development. The honest feedback I received on my work at regular intervals also contributed to this. Of course, positive feedback is particularly good for self-confidence.

Do you have any tips for new applicants who want to do the same training? 

I think the most important thing is to already have an interest in web development and application development in general. That helps enormously on the job and contributes to achieving a sense of achievement quickly. In addition, it is certainly helpful to deal with web development beforehand and to acquire some basic knowledge. That way you can usually tell right away if the job might suit you.

You can start your training at Local Brand X too

For this year's training start on August 1, we are again looking for a new trainee to support our team. During the three-year apprenticeship as an IT specialist for application development, you will get to know software development better and work on our system. This way you can already learn during your training how customer needs and problems are solved by our development team and you can directly put the theoretical contents of your training into practice. We deliberately allocate only one training position per year in order to devote ourselves fully to your potential and your new ideas.
